A postage stamp featuring traditional rye bread will be issued! Starting September 25, a stamp dedicated to rye bread will be available at Omniva post offices, e-shops, and the Tallinn Food Fair, including an embossed stamp that resembles the crust of bread when touched. Jaan Saar designed the stamp, which costs \u20ac1.30. In total, just 20,000 rye bread stamps will be issued. In addition to the stamp, a rye bread-themed First Day along with a corresponding First Day Cancellation will be available at Toompea Post Office.<\/p>\n

The emissions commission of Eesti Post picked rye bread as the stamp for the 2024 “Great Estonian Things” series, which represents our rich culture and heritage. This nearly 1,000-year-old practice symbolizes national values and a strong connection to the land. The rye bread stamp seeks to emphasize its significance by communicating a sense of home and Estonian hospitality both in Estonia and around the world.
